West Bromwich Albion have been dealt a blow after it was confirmed that attacking midfielder Tammer Bany will be sidelined for around four months following a thigh injury picked up in training.
The 22-year-old, who joined the Baggies from Danish side Randers in January, will require surgery on the issue, a setback that also puts his involvement in Jordan’s 2026 World Cup campaign in doubt. Bany made his international debut for the nation in November and is part of a squad preparing for a tough group featuring Austria, Algeria and reigning champions Argentina.
Bany’s time in blue and white has been limited so far. He made a brief late cameo in December’s 3-1 defeat at QPR and has otherwise been restricted to seven unused substitute appearances this season.
Signed on a three-and-a-half-year deal for a reported £3.3m, the creative midfielder was seen as one for the future at The Hawthorns. However, this latest setback means both player and club will now be focused on a lengthy rehabilitation period before he can make a proper impact in Albion colours.
